By The Examiner staff A new medical facility has wholesale halloween costumes opened in Independence with a focus on primary care for seniors.
Partners in Primary Care Halloween Costumes Outlet is at 19401 E. 39th St., across from Centerpoint Medical Center and the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center. It's affiliated with Humana but accepts many insurance programs, including Medicare Advantage.
"We feel like we bring something special to the community. We feel like seniors deserve a certain kind of care," said Sue Lamb, market vice president for operations. Partners in Primary Care is opening four centers in the metro area – with hopes to add more – and has others in Texas and on the East Coast.
"Our jdfhggfhk entire intent to be convenient for the patient," Lamb said.
Lamb and others said the main focus of their "value-based care" is to concentrate on basic, preventive services so money is saved and people can live at home. There's an emphasis on reminding people about regular screenings and on listening to patients about what they think might be wrong. Doctors intentionally spend more time with patients than they might be able to in other settings.
"It is very simple what we do, but it is personal," she said.
The facility has a community room, open to anyone, that's to be the site of classes and other activities.
